Job Title: Design Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are recruiting a skilled Design Technology Teacher to support a thriving secondary school in the S2 and S3 areas. This role is ideal for someone who can deliver practical, engaging lessons while ensuring students develop strong technical and problem-solving skills.
As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will guide pupils through a range of DT (Design and Technology) disciplines, encouraging creativity, resilience, and hands-on learning. You will create safe, structured sessions that help students understand design processes, develop technical knowledge, and produce high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver lessons across key DT areas such as product design, materials, and engineering concepts.
- Demonstrate safe use of tools, machinery, and workshop equipment.
- Encourage pupils to think creatively and solve design challenges.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Maintain a well-organised, safe learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider curriculum.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching DT at secondary level.
- Strong practical skills and a good understanding of workshop safety.
- Excellent communication and classroom-management abilities.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and commitment to student welfare.
