GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in the Maldon area. This is a full-time, long-term position, starting as soon as possible, with the expectation that the successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, planning, and assessment across KS3 and KS4.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated teacher who is passionate about engaging students in Food Technology and promoting hands-on learning in the kitchen.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and practical lessons.

  • Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with curriculum requirements.

  • Create a supportive and safe kitchen/classroom environment for all learners.

  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students.

  • Work collaboratively with the Technology department to support wider curriculum initiatives.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and hygiene at all times.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Food Technology.

  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.

  • Ability to plan effective lessons and manage practical classroom environments.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.

  • A positive, energetic, and committed approach to teaching.
