Further Education Lecturer – Childcare
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear
Salary: £100 - £140 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent
GSL Education are currently recruiting an experienced and passionate Further Education Lecturer in Childcare to join a supportive post-16 provision in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to deliver high-quality teaching, inspire learners, and prepare them for careers within the childcare and early years sector.
Job Summary:
• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in Childcare and Early Years Education up to Level 3.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials that meet awarding body standards.
• Support learners in achieving their vocational qualifications and developing employability skills.
• Provide one-to-one guidance, feedback, and mentoring to help learners reach their goals.
• Ensure a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes personal growth and academic success.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external organisations to support learner progression into higher education or employment.
Requirements:
• A recognised qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Education.
• Previous experience teaching or tutoring within Further Education (up to Level 3 preferred).
• A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Strong communication, organisational, and mentoring skills.
• Available to start immediately and open to long-term employment.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
