Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield. This role provides an excellent opportunity to help pupils with special educational needs access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Role Overview:
|As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and the SENCO to support students with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). Your role will involve promoting inclusion, building positive relationships, and helping students engage with their learning in and out of the classroom.
As a Secondary SEN TA, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Support access to the curriculum and adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in lessons.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure effective support.
- Promote independence, confidence, and social development among pupils.
- Monitor, record, and report on student progress and wellbeing.
Requirements for Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEN in a school setting (preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting students’ needs.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
