GSL Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Maldon on a long-term, full-time basis, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping children with additional needs to reach their full potential — both academically and personally.
You’ll work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, ensuring that every child feels valued, included, and encouraged to thrive.
This is a wonderful opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils and become a trusted part of a caring school community.
What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language, or learning difficulties)

Providing one-to-one and small group assistance inside and outside the classroom

Helping to adapt lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs

Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress

Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning support

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for helping every child succeed

A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
