Full-Time French Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

GSL Education are delighted to be supporting a welcoming Secondary School in Southampton in their search for a dedicated full-time French Teacher to join their team from January 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives on bringing language and culture to life in the classroom, fostering curiosity, confidence, and communication skills among students. The school warmly welcomes both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators to apply. A school tour is available before being invited back to the school for a more formal interview process. Interviews are to take place over the next few weeks.

Key Responsibilities of French Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging French lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).
  • Inspire a love for the French language through dynamic teaching and interactive learning activities.
  • Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in French.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote achievement.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider language department and participate in curriculum development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports every learner.

Requirements for French Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching French at secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language and culture.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
  • A proactive approach to engaging students and enriching their learning experience.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
