Full-Time Resistant Materials Teacher – Eastleigh, Hampshire

GSL Education are seeking a Resistant Materials Teacher to join a thriving secondary school community in Eastleigh. This exciting full-time role begins in January 2026 and offers the opportunity to teach in a forward-thinking environment that celebrates creativity and practical learning.

This is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave for one academic year, ideal for those eager to make a real impact. The school is happy to consider Early Careers Teachers alongside more experienced teachers. A school tour is available before being invited back to the school for a more formal interview process. Interviews are to take place over the next few weeks.

Key Responsibilities of Resistant Materials Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Resistant Materials lessons to inspire creativity and technical skill.
  • Support students in developing confidence, precision, and innovation through practical projects.
  • Assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor learning to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised workshop environment.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and extracurricular design activities.

Requirements for Resistant Materials Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Resistant Materials, Design & Technology, or a related subject.
  • Strong practical knowledge of workshop tools, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators.
  • A proactive attitude, creativity, and commitment to student success.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
