Pay Rate: £90– £95 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with a child with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) at a warm and inclusive school in Barnham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in a child’s learning journey — helping them grow with confidence, independence, and joy.
As a 1:1 LSA, you’ll provide tailored support to a pupil with ASC, ensuring they feel understood, valued, and engaged in their learning. You’ll work closely with teachers and SEN staff to create a positive environment that nurtures progress — both academically and emotionally.
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (ASC), you will:
- Offer 1:1 support to a child with ASC, adapting learning materials to their needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and participation in classroom activities.
- Foster a calm, structured, and caring environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
- Monitor progress and celebrate every achievement — big or small.
- Promote inclusion, understanding, and empathy within the classroom.
Requirements for 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (ASC):
- Previous experience supporting children with ASC or additional learning needs is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
