Daily supply
We supply nursary, primary and secondary teachers every day to many schools around London. Our office is open and manned from 7am during term time to take urgent calls from schools for teachers needed that day. Often schools may book a teacher in advance for the following week, or have a preferred teacher who they request on a regular basis.
Teachers - At your initial interview we take note of how many days per week you would like to work; your preferences with regards to what kind of school you would like to work in; the distance you are prepared to travel at short notice, and your location. We update these details as they change and take them into account when sending you to schools. You can register with us here.
Schools - We match teachers to schools that are local to where they live, or give enough notice for the teachers to cover the travelling distance. A supply teacher request may be for general cover - to manage a variety of classes in the day - or for a specific subject, in which case we will send a teacher with specific experience. We keep an updated record of teachers you prefer and those who don't suit your school, and supply teachers according to these preferences. Contact us now to make a request.

Long-term placements
We take orders from schools to provide strong teachers for long-term supply placements in all subjects, ranging in duration from a week to an academic year. A regular, ongoing placement, even if it's just for two days a week for one term, is considered a long-term placement.
Teachers - These positions are excellent for teachers who don't want a permanent position, but want more stability and security than day-to-day supply work. If you have registered with us and are available, we will consider you for these vacancies as they come up. Long-term positions also give you a better chance of securing a permanent position in the school if one comes up.
Schools - When a school makes a request to fill a long-term vacancy, we forward the CVs of our most suitable teachers to the contact person and arrange interviews in consultation with them. Whenever necessary, we will also recruit new teachers with your specific vacancy in mind, to make sure we get the best teachers out there. All of these teachers undergo our standard, stringent vetting procedure . You can view some of our current teachers here. We have many more on our books, so please contact us to make a request.

Permanent placements
We also help schools to find permanent members of staff. Often these follow on from a long-term position, so the resident teacher has an advantage if they are already popular in the school. Permanent placements are made at a one-off fee negotiated between the School and GSL. Once a teacher has taken a permanent position they move onto the school's payroll and their contract with GSL finishes although we often remain in contact with our teachers after they've moved on!

Finding teachers
We recruit teachers through our own marketing, through this website, from online databases and through word-of-mouth recommendations by our current candidates. We have also run recruitment initiatives in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and India with great success. Teachers can register with us through this website, or by emailing their CV to the address on the contact page . Teachers who refer their colleagues can receive £50.00 once the teacher they referred has done ten days of work with us.

Registering as a teacher
Registration is easy. Just email your CV to info@gsleducation.com, or register online. You will then be contacted over the phone by one of our consultants to arrange a time for you to come in for an informal interview. You will be sent a registration pack by email, and asked to bring in the completed forms along with relevant documents such as proof of ID and qualifications. Full details will be included in your registration pack, or more information is given below in the section on our vetting procedures.

Vetting procedures
GSL Education is a UK Government Quality Mark agency and a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, REC. As such, we are required to have procedures and policies that may be more stringent and thorough than other education agencies and teacher supply agencies. This is to ensure that all our teachers (and other staff) are qualified, genuine and above all safe to work with children and young people.
All our teachers must go through our rigorous vetting procedure before being sent out to a school. Registration generally happens as follows:
- Once you have sent your CV or registered online , one of our consultants will call you for a brief telephone interview and to arrange a face-to-face interview
- We require two strong professional and character references, which we will verify
- You must show us your valid, original passport and/or a full UK driving license or another appropriate, official form of evidence of identity
- You must also bring original certificates of your qualifications
- Evidence of your right to work in the UK
- You need to bring us utility bills or bank statements (issued to your address within the last 3 months) as proof of address
- We need to see original copies of any police check documents, although we will also apply for a new criminal records (CRB) check, as per our policy
- We will also undertake a 'list99' check before sending you out to a school
- At interview you must also demonstrate and give examples of your strong classroom management and teaching skills
While it may sound like a lot, registration can usually be completed in 30-45 minutes and is worth it for the reassurance we can give schools about you, even before you arrive to teach.

Equal opportunities policy
GSL Education is committed to equal opportunities and stands firm against all forms of discrimination. Teachers are considered on skills, qualifications and suitability for the vacancies available.
