Every year, thousands of students do not achieve the grades they are capable of in their GCSE exams, not because of their ability, but because of circumstances.

GSL Education has experience of running intervention programs in London schools and is now offering this service to a wider group. Through these programs and our work at the Keen Students' School in Tower Hamlets, we have gained knowledge of what works for children who are falling behind national expectations. And over our years of successfully recruiting staff for London schools, we have built up a pool of experienced teachers and proven resource materials to draw upon.

Intervention

Our intention is to meet the need for quality intervention by focusing on the core subjects of Maths and English at GCSE level. Our plan is to be flexible - to make our resources and experience available in a way that suits the school and addresses the needs of the student. We can supply the teachers, tutors and resources to run tutorial sessions with students during core time or after school.

GCSE retakes

For those students who didn't manage to attain a grade C or higher the first time around, we can provide tutorial sessions that work on a minimum 1:5 tutor to student ratio, in order to address the weaknesses of individual students. The aim is to prepare them for the exams in such a way that they feel confident about the subject and ultimately improve their grade.
