The role is at an outstandingly successful and oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school in Redbridge, East London. The school is an excellent base for commuting with superb tube, rail, bus, car and airport transport links.
The school is mixed gender, graded ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED and has a higher than average national average for GCSE A-Cs.
As such we are looking for a Psychology & Sociology Teacher who can demonstrate a proven track record of not only improving student outcomes in Psychology and Sociology, but also the ability to motivate, support and enthuse the strong and committed team of Psychology and Sociology Specialists.
The timetable will include GCSE classes. Therefore, the Psychology & Sociology Teacher will need to hit the ground running with AQA Psychology & Sociology schemes of work and plan/deliver lessons to make good progress before the summer examinations.
You will need:
Up do date CV
Consistent/steady career history
Hold QTS or PGCE– even if overseas trained
A valid and current DBS
School based references covering a minimum of 3 years
NQTs will need two teaching placement references and a university reference

GSL Education is urgently seeking Cover Supervisors for schools in the London Borough of Redbridge. We run a very busy day to day supply desk- as well as getting long-term positions through, and require strong, reliable and experienced Cover Supervisors immediately.
The role of a Cover Supervisor involves:
-Sole responsibility for supervising classes and issuing work that has been set by the absent class teacher;
-Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking their work, to ensure a constructive environment;
-Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures;
-Dealing with any immediate problems according to the school's policies and procedures;
-Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher;
-Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.
Although the role of a Cover Supervisor does not require any specific qualifications, experience working with young people and strong behaviour management is vital!
