SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School

Start Date: Immediately 
Location: Burnham-on-Crouch
Salary: £90 - £120 per day

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our secondary school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.

  • Work closely with teaching staff to adapt lessons and resources to suit individual learners.

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and resilience.

  • Support students in building confidence, social skills, and independence.

  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (in school or alternative settings).

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • A proactive approach and willingness to work as part of a team.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting student well-being.
