SEN Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S13)
Salary: £150–£250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/ Long Term, Full time / Part time
Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs?
GSL Education are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to work with schools in Sheffield.
As a SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and interventions to pupils with special educational needs. You will work closely with support staff, parents, and the wider school community to create an inclusive learning environment. Your role will involve monitoring progress, adapting teaching strategies, and supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Responsibilities of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher:
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to pupils with SEND.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and interventions.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, staff, and parents.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning within the classroom.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
- Adapt resources and teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Participate in school trips, extracurricular activities, and special events.
- Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils.
SEN Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs in UK schools.
- Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, frameworks, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
