Subject Specialist
Location: Worksop
Salary: £95–£113 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Subject Specialist to work with pupils in schools across Worksop.
As a Subject Specialist, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support in your subject area. You will assist in creating engaging and inclusive lessons, monitor pupil progress, and provide one-to-one or small group support where needed. The role will involve preparing resources, helping pupils consolidate their learning, and contributing to a positive and productive classroom environment. This role is ideal for someone who can provide targeted academic support, assist in lesson delivery, and help pupils excel in their chosen subject areas.
Responsibilities of a Subject Specialist:
- Support teachers in delivering lessons in your specialist subject.
- Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to pupils requiring additional support.
- Assist in planning and preparing subject-specific learning resources.
- Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom times when required.
- Participate in school trips and extracurricular activities where relevant.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure pupils meet their learning goals.
Requirements for a Subject Specialist:
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils in your subject area.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
- Relevant qualifications in your subject or teaching support (desirable).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
