SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S10
Pay Rate: £95 – £105 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Sheffield (S10). As an SEMH TA, you will provide tailored support to pupils, helping them develop emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence to succeed in their learning and personal development.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Implement strategies to support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote self-confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills.
- Resilient, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
