GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with pupils in a local school based in Poole starting immediately.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils with their learning needs. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help create an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils needing additional help.
  • Assist with preparing classroom resources and lesson materials.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
  • Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff.
  • Supervise pupils during breaks or lunchtimes when required.
  • Support extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Foster independence and confidence in learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet pupil needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a UK school or similar setting.
  • A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent (desirable).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
