Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Wingerworth, S42
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Wingerworth (S42) area. As an SEN TA, this role is perfect for someone who is caring, adaptable, and committed to providing the right support to help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and activities.
- Encourage and nurture pupils to build confidence and independence in their learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being within the classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop effective support strategies.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, patient approach.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour with understanding and consistency.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history with explanations for any gaps.
