A welcoming primary school in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This role will involve working closely with class teachers to support children with additional needs, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The school has a strong ethos of inclusion and is looking for someone patient, proactive, and passionate about helping every child succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum.

  • Work 1:1 with a child to support their learning, social, and emotional development.

  • Assist the class teacher with differentiated activities to ensure all pupils can take part.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.

  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

  • Liaise with teachers, SENCo, and parents to support the child’s progress.
