GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join schools in the Sheffield (S26) area. As a Behaviour Mentor, this role is perfect for someone committed to making a positive difference in pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development by providing consistent behavioural support in a safe and structured environment.
Responsibilities as a Behaviour Mentor:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.
- Implement and support behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
- Encourage positive behaviour, self-regulation, and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support.
- Monitor, record, and report on student progress to inform interventions and support plans.
Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in schools or pastoral support roles.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, flexible, and supportive approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
