SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S12
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a compassionate and inclusive school in Sheffield, S12. As an SEMH TA, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome challenges, and enabling them to engage fully in their learning.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
- Build positive relationships with students to foster engagement and academic progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide personalised support.
- Contribute to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and safe school environment.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a commitment to supporting students through challenges.
- A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
