SEN Teaching Assistant – Support a Wonderful Primary School in Newham!

Location: Newham
Pay: £90 – £105 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Newham is seeking a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who need emotional and behavioural support, and to become a valued part of a nurturing school community.


Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for children with SEMH, ADHD, and self-harming behaviours

  • Assist pupils with their learning across Key Stages 1 and 2

  • Create a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans

  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, promoting their confidence and independence

  • Support with personal care needs, including nappy changing where required


✅ What We’re Looking From a SEN TA:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH or behavioural needs

  • Comfortable with personal care duties

  • A patient, calm, and encouraging approach to learning

  • A strong team player who can follow guidance and use initiative

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development

  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
