Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: May 2024 / June 2024
Salary: £417 – £500 per week
Contract: Fixed Term, Contract, Temporary, Term Time Only

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Individual Students: Providing 1:1 support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can fully engage in lessons and wider school life.
  • Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans designed to meet the specific needs and goals of students with special educational needs.
  • Promoting Inclusion: Encouraging the inclusion and integration of students with SEN into mainstream classrooms and school activities, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Managing Behaviour: Implementing behaviour management strategies to support students with SEN in developing positive behaviours and social skills.
  • Collaborating with Teachers and Specialists: Working closely with classroom teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to implement strategies and interventions that support the learning and development of students with SEN.
