GSL Education is currently looking for School Receptionist base in Christchurch.  This is ideally a full-time role, but the school may consider a job share for two part-time candidates. An immediate start date is preferred if possible


As a School Receptionist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the educational institution. The school prioritises a supportive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Front Desk Management:
    • Greet visitors, parents, and students with a warm and welcoming demeanour.
    • Answer incoming calls and emails, directing them to the appropriate staff members.
    • Manage the school's main reception area, ensuring a professional and organised environment.
  2. Administrative Support:
    • Assist with general administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and data entry.
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and assist with the enrolment process.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  3. Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with parents, staff, and students to address inquiries and provide information.
    • Manage the school calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings as needed.
    • Support in disseminating information through newsletters and other communication channels.
  4. Student Support:
    • Provide support to students who may visit the reception area, offering assistance or directing them to the appropriate personnel.
    • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive school environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with school management systems is a plus.

Skills:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with a diverse team.
