As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and enhancing the overall learning experience for students in secondary education. Your responsibilities will include providing targeted support to individuals or small groups, assisting with classroom activities, and contributing to the creation of an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • As a Teaching Assistant you will collaborate with subject teachers to support the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons in secondary subjects, such as Maths and English.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support, focusing on personalized learning strategies.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all secondary students.
  • As a Teaching Assistant you will monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of extracurricular activities and projects.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting the diverse needs of secondary students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with secondary students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic educational setting.
  • An understanding of different learning styles and the ability to tailor support accordingly.
