SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Newham
Pay Rate: £90 – £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am – 4:15pm
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

GSL Education’s London Branch is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a modern, inclusive school in Newham. If you have proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and a strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), this could be the perfect role for you!

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 support and lead small group interventions when required. Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team, you will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Deliver effective 1:1 SEN support and interventions.
  • Lead small group activities when required.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow school policies and contribute positively to the team culture.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Proven SEN experience with strong knowledge of ASD.
  • Recent school-based experience.
  • Ability to lead groups and deliver tailored interventions.
  • Warm personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
