Attendance Admin Officer - Sheffield (S9)

Job Title: Attendance Admin Officer
Location: Sheffield, S9
Pay Rate: £100 – £120 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a reliable and organised Attendance Admin Officer to join a secondary school in Sheffield (S9) on a maternity cover basis. This is a key role supporting the school’s attendance function and ensuring accurate, timely records are maintained.

The Role:
As an Attendance Admin Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing student attendance data, liaising with parents/carers, and supporting the school’s safeguarding and pastoral processes. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional home visits where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring daily student attendance and punctuality
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records and reports
  • Contacting parents/carers regarding absences
  • Updating school systems with attendance information
  • Supporting attendance interventions and follow-up actions
  • Working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
  • Carrying out occasional home visits when required

Requirements:

  • Previous administration experience (essential)
  • Experience working in a school or education setting (desirable)
  • Experience with MIS systems (such as Bromcom or SIMS) is preferred but not essential
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
