Job Title: Behaviour Support Staff
Location: Sheffield (S5, S9)
Pay rate: £460-£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate 
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Do you have the ability to stay calm under pressure while supporting students in overcoming behavioural challenges?

GSL Education are seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Staff to work with schools within Sheffield, including the S5 and S9 areas, supporting pupils who require additional guidance and structure.

As Behaviour Support Staff (BSS), you will work closely with students to improve behaviour, engagement, and learning outcomes, creating a positive and safe environment for all.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours and following school routines.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and effective communication skills.
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback on development.
  • Maintain a safe and structured learning environment.

Requirements of Behaviour Support Staff:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in educational or behavioural support settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A professional and responsible approach to safeguarding.
