Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield (WF4 area)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning assistance, promote engagement, and encourage positive behaviour, making a real difference in students’ day-to-day learning.
Responsibilities:
- Support students in both classroom and 1:1 settings, helping them engage with learning and build confidence.
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and preparation of resources.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and social skills among students.
- Monitor and record student progress, engagement, and behaviour accurately.
- Provide personalised support for students with additional learning needs.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to ensure holistic support.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEN or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Understanding of supporting children with additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability to support students effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to the school environment.
