Autism Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Pocklington
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2026
GSL Education are recruiting an Autism Support Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision near Pocklington, supporting pupils who benefit from structured routines and autism-friendly approaches.
About the School
The setting provides a calm, nurturing environment for pupils with autism and associated needs. Staff focus on communication, sensory regulation and helping learners build confidence and independence.
Responsibilities

Support autistic pupils in class and small groups

Use visual supports and structured strategies

Assist with emotional and sensory regulation

Work alongside teachers and SEN professionals
Requirements
Experience supporting autistic learners, understanding of sensory needs, a patient approach and an enhanced DBS.
