Job description
GSL Education are working closely with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Harlow who are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work 1:1 with an autistic child in EYFS.
This is a long-term, full-time position and a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference during a child’s crucial early years, within a school that is supportive, inclusive, and well-regarded locally.
The Role:

Provide consistent 1:1 support to a child with Autism in an EYFS setting

Support learning through play-based and structured activities
-
Help with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans

Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in the classroom

Support transitions, routines, and sensory needs throughout the school day

Maintain a calm, nurturing, and safe learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience supporting children with Autism and/or SEN, ideally within EYFS or primary settings
-
A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
-
Strong understanding of early childhood development

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or SEN) are desirable but not essential

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
