Job Title: Pastoral Manager
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediately/January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to offer an opportunity for an experienced professional to work as a Pastoral Manager in schools throughout Sheffield, including the S2 and S3 areas, providing guidance, structure, and pastoral support to students who require additional care and intervention.

As a Pastoral Manager, you will focus on student wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement, collaborating with staff and families to ensure learners feel supported and able to succeed both academically and personally.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing, intervening where concerns arise.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies, resilience, and positive relationships.
  • Coordinate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to provide effective support.
  • Manage and record pastoral interventions, ensuring accurate and confidential documentation.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in pastoral, wellbeing, or student support, with the capability to assume Pastoral Manager responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional approach.
  • Confidence handling sensitive situations and supporting students with complex needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and student welfare responsibilities.
