Location: Sheffield (S35)
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Sheffield (S35).
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an essential role in maintaining continuity in the classroom by delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged in their learning. This opportunity is perfect for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or individuals with school-based experience who are passionate about supporting young people.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set lessons to classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with school policies.
- Support students with their classwork and encourage positive engagement.
- Maintain a calm, focused, and supportive learning environment.
- Follow lesson plans, provide feedback to teaching staff, and complete basic reporting tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a school or youth setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Confident leading groups of students and delivering prepared content.
- A positive, proactive attitude and ability to adapt to different classroom situations.
- A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
