Secondary Tutor
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear
Salary: £100 - £140 per day
Contract: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent
GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and knowledgeable Secondary Tutor to join a supportive secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ academic progress, confidence, and motivation across core subjects.
Job Summary:
• Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group tutoring sessions in core subjects such as Maths, English, or Science.
• Support pupils in developing subject knowledge, study skills, and exam preparation strategies.
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify learning gaps and track pupil progress.
• Provide mentoring and motivational guidance to help pupils achieve their potential.
• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
• A degree in a relevant subject (2:2 or above).
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, either in tutoring, mentoring, or classroom support.
• Strong communication, subject knowledge, and organisational skills.
• A proactive and patient approach to supporting student learning.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
