Pay Scale: £150 - £260 per day – depending on experience & Contract Type

This dynamic school places science at the heart of its curriculum, fostering curiosity and encouraging students to explore biological concepts through engaging lessons and hands-on learning. As a Biology Teacher, your role will involve far more than planning and marking — you will play a key part in shaping inquisitive, analytical learners ready to thrive in further studies and future careers. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver a high-quality Biology curriculum across Key Stages (KS3–KS4 and KS5 if applicable), covering key topics such as cell biology, ecology, genetics, and human biology.
- Practical Learning: Lead safe and impactful laboratory experiments and investigations that enhance students’ scientific enquiry skills and reinforce theoretical content.
- Assessment & Feedback: Monitor and assess student progress through tests, practical work, assignments, and class participation, providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Student Engagement: Inspire curiosity by connecting classroom learning to real-world biological issues including health, environment, and biotechnology.
- Classroom & Lab Management: Maintain a safe, organised, and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and strong work habits.
- Professional Growth: Participate in CPD opportunities and stay informed about advancements in biological sciences and educational methods.
The successful Biology Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent – PGCE/BSc, etc. with specialism in Biology).
- Experience teaching Biology at secondary level (A-Level experience desirable).
- Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of national curriculum requirements.
- Ability to motivate students and build positive relationships with learners and colleagues.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working approach.
- DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
