Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £88.92 - £95 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional learning needs. Your role will involve delivering one-to-one or small group support, helping pupils with academic tasks, behaviour management, and social development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN, both academically and socially

  • Assist with lesson activities and implement personalised learning plans

  • Support positive behaviour management and encourage social interaction

  • Use visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies to facilitate learning and transitions

  • Conduct observations and give feedback to teachers and SENCOs on pupil progress

  • Deliver personal care if required, following school policy and safeguarding guidance

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in educational settings

  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and differentiated learning

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements
