About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them achieve their potential. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement differentiated strategies, monitor progress, and provide targeted assistance both academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN

  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and classroom activities

  • Support behaviour management and encourage positive social interactions

  • Use visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies to aid learning and transitions

  • Conduct observations and provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress

  • Deliver personal care if required, in line with school policy and safeguarding guidance

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience supporting children with SEN in school settings

  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and differentiated teaching strategies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection requirements
