Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hounslow
Start Date: Immediately
Contract: Full-Time | Monday to Friday 
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. You’ll play an essential role in creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can flourish.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support tailored to each pupil’s needs.

  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies.

  • Foster a nurturing environment that encourages independence and confidence.

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistency and care.

 

‍ What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN (Autism, MLD, or SEMH) is desirable.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude toward working with children.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
