Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S11)
Pay Rate: £150 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher ready to inspire and support young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
GSL Education are seeking a passionate SEMH Teacher to join a nurturing and supportive school in Sheffield (S11 area). This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced teacher who can create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies and encourage positive learning habits.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support each learner’s development.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying barriers and celebrating achievements.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and resilience.
Requirements for SEMH Teacher:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Excellent understanding of trauma-informed and differentiated teaching approaches.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging situations.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
