Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield (S11)
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a caring and patient SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Sheffield. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.


As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Encourage students’ independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Support the emotional and academic well-being of pupils throughout the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure all pupils achieve their potential.


Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
