Pay Scale: M1 – UPS3 (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026 or sooner
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving school in Hull. This role is perfect for a committed educator who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons, helping students develop their analytical and creative thinking skills while achieving excellent academic outcomes.


As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 if required).
  • Inspire and support students to achieve their full potential through high-quality teaching.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure continued improvement.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and independent learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative resources and curriculum plans.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and uphold the school’s values and ethos.


Requirements for English Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for literature and language.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
