Job Title: English Teacher

Pay Scale: M1 – UPS3 (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026 or sooner
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher with a passion for literature, language, and helping students develop strong communication skills?

GSL Education are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Hull. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT to deliver creative and engaging English lessons that motivate students to achieve their full potential.


As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages.
  • Inspire students through a range of classic and contemporary texts, developing their analytical and writing skills.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in accordance with school policies.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, promoting a positive learning culture.


Requirements for English Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for language and literature.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
