Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Pay Rate: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

GSL Education are currently seeking a SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated and inclusive school in Dinnington. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners who require additional support to achieve their academic and personal goals.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEMH requirements.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment that promotes emotional regulation and academic progress.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with SENCOs and other professionals.
  • Use restorative and relational approaches to manage behaviour and build trust with pupils.
  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and life skills to promote independence and confidence.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure each pupil receives consistent and effective care.

Requirements for SEMH Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally within a specialist or alternative provision.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient approach.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
