About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students with Autism, helping them engage with lessons, develop life skills, and access a meaningful and structured learning experience. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide 1:1 or small group support, ensuring pupils feel safe, included, and confident.
Responsibilities

Provide personalised 1:1 or small group support to pupils with Autism.

Assist with lesson activities and follow individual learning plans.

Support students’ social and emotional development within the classroom.

Administer personal care as required, maintaining dignity and respect.

Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour, ensuring clear communication with teachers.

Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience supporting children with Autism or SEN in a school or care setting is desirable.

Understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions and evidence-based support strategies.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual student needs.

DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
