SEN Teaching Assistant – Eastbourne

Salary: £90 - £100 per day

About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs access learning and thrive in the classroom. You’ll be supporting the class teacher and working 1:1 or in small groups to help children engage with their lessons, develop key life skills, and build confidence. This is an ideal role for someone with patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN.

Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.

Support the class teacher in creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.

Encourage social and emotional development through positive interaction.

Assist with personal care when required.

Help monitor and record student progress to ensure their needs are met.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care setting is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A proactive, calm, and patient approach to supporting learners.

A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
