About the Role:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide targeted, individualised support to pupils with Autism, helping them access the curriculum and engage fully in school life. You will work alongside teachers to implement personalised learning plans, support behaviour management strategies, and promote social and emotional development.
Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Autism.

Assist with the implementation of individualised education and care plans.

Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation in line with school strategies.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met.

Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and activities.

Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and break times.

Provide personal care assistance when required, respecting dignity and school policy.
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience supporting children with Autism or SEN in a school or educational setting.

Understanding of Autism spectrum conditions and evidence-based support strategies.

Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs.

Patience, consistency, and a proactive approach to learning and care.
