Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Eastbourne
Salary: £90 – £95 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. You will assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons, support individual learning plans, and encourage positive behaviour and personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with special educational needs within the classroom.

  • Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans and differentiated lessons.

  • Promote positive behaviour and social skills through consistent support and guidance.

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met.

  • Support pupils during classroom activities, transitions, and break times.

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour.

  • Provide personal care support where required, in line with school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or educational setting.

  • Understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, or related conditions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of pupils and provide individualised support.

  • Patience, empathy, and a consistent approach to learning support.
