Salary: £89.92 – £95 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time

About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with a specific pupil to provide individualised academic and emotional support. You’ll assist in implementing personalised education plans, help maintain focus during lessons, and promote independence both inside and outside the classroom. Your support will play a vital role in enabling the child to achieve their learning goals and thrive in a positive, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with identified special educational needs.
• Follow and adapt individual learning plans to ensure the pupil’s progress.
• Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and engaging classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Support the pupil during classroom activities, transitions, and break times.
• Liaise with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour.
• (If applicable) Provide support with personal care needs in line with school policy.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN, either in school or a care setting.
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs.
• Strong communication and empathy skills.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils and staff.
• A patient, consistent, and proactive approach to learning support.
