Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Felpham. This role is perfect for someone who values inclusion, patience, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed.

In this position, you will work alongside class teachers to provide personalised support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. You’ll play a key part in creating an engaging and nurturing environment, offering one-to-one and small group assistance to help pupils develop confidence, communication, and independence.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and group support to students with varying learning needs.
  • Assist in adapting lesson plans and materials to meet individual requirements.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through consistent support.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure continuity of care.
  • Monitor and record student progress, helping to inform future interventions.
  • Encourage students to achieve personal and academic milestones with confidence.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Knowledge of a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude.
  • Resilience and commitment to supporting inclusive education.
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
