SEN Support Assistant – 1:1 Role – Bexhill

Salary: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time
Location: Bexhill

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and reliable SEN Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs at a primary school in Bexhill.

Role Overview:

As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant, you will be the dedicated support for a child who requires individualized attention to thrive in school. Your role will involve helping them navigate the school day, access learning activities, and develop both academically and socially. You'll provide consistency, encouragement, and tailored support that makes a genuine difference to their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Help the pupil engage with lessons and complete learning tasks
  • Follow individual education plans and support strategies
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction with peers
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and the SENCo team
  • Build a trusting relationship that promotes the child's independence and confidence

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a 1:1 capacity
  • Understanding of barriers to learning such as autism, ADHD, or developmental delays
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond to individual needs
  • Good communication skills and team-working ability
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (advantageous)
