SEN TA – Secondary Setting – Supporting Challenging Behaviour – Eastbourne

Salary: £90 - £100 per day

We are working with a supportive secondary school in Eastbourne seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students displaying challenging behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need additional support.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN and challenging behaviour
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Support students both in the classroom and in alternative learning environments
  • Work closely with the SENCo, pastoral team, and teachers to create tailored support plans
  • Help build students' confidence, self-regulation skills, and engagement with learning
  • Monitor and record progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions

We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting students with challenging behaviour in a secondary setting
  • Understanding of SEN including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and associated behavioural needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, consistent, and compassionate approach
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable students
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, or behaviour management training) desirable
  • A proactive attitude and excellent communication skills
